BTG Instruments in Säffle is now looking for an experienced and driven Controller/Teamleader who wants to contribute to continued growth and success in an international technology company.

The team in Säffle plays a central role in strengthening BTG's position as one of the world's leading suppliers of measurement and control systems to the process industry.

About the role:

As a Controller, you will be responsible for controlling and play a key role in ensuring correct cost structure, high data quality, and strong financial governance. You will work closely with factory management, operations, and purchasing, acting as a proactive business partner throughout the organization.

Additionally, as Teamleader, you will lead the daily work of five senior employees in the finance department, all of whom have extensive experience in their fields.

The role involves both strategic work and operational presence – perfect for you who want to combine analysis with operational leadership.

Your main responsibilities:

Product Costing & Factory Results

  • Design and maintain the standard cost model according to the group's reporting principles.
  • Develop and implement analyses of manufacturing variances.
  • Analyze and explain manufacturing variances. Follow up actual versus planned production performance and drive improvement actions together with production.

Financial Governance, Cost Control & Performance Reporting (KPIs)

  • Ensure correct cost structures and transparency for both direct and indirect costs.
  • Monitor productivity, work efficiency, scrap, rework, and other cost drivers.
  • Support and drive initiatives for cost reduction and improvement work.
  • Develop clear KPIs as well as reports and digital visualizations to monitor factory results.
  • Lead monthly follow-up meetings with factory and regional management.

Inventory Management & Working Capital

  • Continuously improve inventory accuracy and inventory controls.
  • Analyze slow-moving and obsolete inventory and drive action plans.
  • Support purchasing and logistics in defining optimal inventory levels and working capital targets.

Purchasing & Cost Optimization

  • Collaborate closely with the purchasing department to identify cost savings and follow up price variances (PPV).
  • Support make-or-buy analyses, costing scenarios, and supplier negotiations.
  • Evaluate cost-effectiveness in relation to volumes and contribute to strategic purchasing work.

Investments & Capex Management

  • Lead the investment budget and approval process.
  • Follow up investments, actual cost outcomes, and ROI evaluations.
  • Maintain and prioritize the investment portfolio together with operations.

Business Support & Leadership

  • Build strong collaborations with factory management and regional sales teams.
  • Provide proactive financial insights and challenge assumptions in decision-making.
  • Promote a culture of cost awareness and data-driven decisions.

System & Process Development

  • Ensure high data integrity in ERP systems and costing structures.
  • Improve reporting systems, drive automation, and develop digital visualizations for operational monitoring.
  • Contribute to improvement projects and transformation initiatives together with external experts.

Group Reporting

  • Fill in and report monthly KPIs to the group's finance department.
  • Explain outcomes and variances (actual versus budget/plan).
  • Support the business in the budgeting and planning process.

Other:

  • Prepare materials for internal and external audits.
  • Handle internal and external inquiries and resolve issues that arise.
  • Continuously improve routines, processes, and working methods.
  • Business travel may occur.

Your profile:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, controlling, accounting, or similar.
  • Several years of experience in industrial controlling/plant controlling/accounting in the manufacturing industry (preferably assembly-based production).
  • Experience in implementing or developing standard cost models and manufacturing controlling.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes, product structures (BOM), operations, cost centers, and work centers.
  • Good knowledge of SAP. Knowledge of SAP4/HANA is a plus.
  • Experience in lean or improvement-oriented environments is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

  • Very good analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
  • Good knowledge of cost accounting and understanding of production flows.
  • Ability to question, drive change, and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills and good collaboration ability.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and data-driven analysis. PowerBI is a plus.
